Spring 2026 Accommodations
Last updated: February 2026 | This webpage will be updated as more information becomes available. Please check back periodically.
Academic Accommodations
During the Spring 2026 semester, Ramadan will take place from approximately Tuesday, February 17th to Thursday, March 19th, with Eid al-Fitr occurring around Friday, March 20th. In preparation for any foreseeable conflicts, we encourage community members to proactively reach out to their Spring 2026 instructors to arrange reasonable accommodations, such as exam or assignment extensions due to challenges while fasting.
To help streamline the process, please use the linked Ramadan and Eid accommodations email template when reaching out to your instructors.
In early January 2026, UC Berkeley administration sent out a campus-wide message informing instructors to make reasonable accommodations for Ramadan and Eid.
Many students aim to finalize their academic accommodations by Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026. However, accommodations may still be requested after this date, especially if circumstances change. If you have not yet completed this process, please reach out to your professor or graduate student instructor as soon as possible. For additional support, you may submit a request to evcp@berkeley.edu or visit the Academic Accommodations Hub to learn more about the university’s Religious Creed Accommodation Policy.
If you anticipate issues or experience conflict, you may cc the UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion (vcei@berkeley.edu). Additionally, if an instructor refuses to accommodate, feel free to reach out to the MSA board at board@msa.berkeley.edu for further assistance.
