Elevate the Ummah this Ramadan
Help us reach our goal of $6,000 this Ramadan!
Serving over 400 students through the enrichment of a welcoming on-campus Muslim community is the mission of the Muslim Student Association. The MSA hosts weekly events ranging from Friday prayers, to ilm classes, community socials, political speaker events, professional development workshops, and much more. The cost required to sustain these regular services adds up to $3,000 every month. A donation as little as $10 per month will greatly help offset this cost. Commit to supporting your community today!
This ramadan, we have decided to partner with The Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) and Eating Rights by MU’EED to donate a third of the proceeds to each organization. The Eating Rights project of Mu’eed, founded by Amelah El-Amin, will facilitate the distribution of nutritious halal hot meals to those unable to prepare and or provide them for themselves. The meals will be prepared in a commercial kitchen, stored in commercial warmers for transporting, and delivered to unhoused individuals in curbside communities, homeless encampments, and to the doors of the elderly and disabled. E.R. will serve residents throughout the City of Oakland and other surrounding cities in Alameda county.
The Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) promotes the rights of the Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslim people in East Turkistan, referred to by the Chinese government as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, through research-based advocacy. It publishes reports and analysis in English and Chinese to defend Uyghurs’ civil, political, social, cultural, and economic rights according to international human rights standards.
